As promised, this week’s edition of Across My Desk will focus entirely on the 16th Case Management Society of America’s Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show that was held in Dallas, Texas, June 12-17, 2006. For those who attended, this will be a recap that you can share with the colleagues that covered for you while you were in Dallas. For those who did not attend, take the time to review the events of each day, but also, visit the organization’s website later in the month, as they will have a photo gallery where you can view photos of the conference and many of the educational programs available in the CMSA Educational Library. This will allow you to hear some of the excellent presentations from the conference, as well as get CCM contact hours!
For those that attended, this week’s QUESTION OF THE WEEK allows you to share your favorite speaker, topic or moment at the conference that energized and empowered you to return to your organization refreshed and motivated regarding the role you play as a case manager. Let me hear from you and all responses will be posted the week of June 26th edition of Across My Desk!
From a personal standpoint, it was exciting to meet so many case management professionals at the conference who have enjoyed Across My Desk. I am glad that I am on target with meeting your needs. Make sure that you pass Across My Desk onto your colleagues. I also urge you to email me with any comments, suggestions, trends or topics that you would like to see covered. This will let me know what is important to you and colleagues in your organization. Also share Across My Desk with your Medical Director and Pharmacy colleagues so they also can be current on daily news events impacting the business of healthcare.
The staff from Dorland Healthcare Information who attended the conference would also like to express their thanks to all who visited the Dorland booth at CMSA this year. Harry, Matt, Bernadette and Liz were very much impressed with the caliber of professionalism and the dedication that each of you brings to the practice. As a team, they are energized to meet your needs by providing the resources needed to perform your job as a case manager. So make sure you check out the Case Management Resource Guide Online and once on the site, register for myCMRG.com so that you can build essential resources you can use to better care for your patients! If you are signed up, you should have received the June issue of Case In Point magazine. If you did get your issue, let me know your thoughts. If you did not get your issue, please email me with your mailing address and I will make sure you get a copy.
Have a good week!
