In this week’s Across My Desk editorial, I’d like to update you on what’s been happening over the past few weeks at Dorland Healthcare Information. First of all, I am excited to announce that we have rolled out the web site www.caseinpointmagazine.com. You can access current and past issues of Case in Point magazine, learn about advertising opportunities, and provide us with feedback so we can continue to improve and develop products and services that enhance your professional and personal life.

In other news, we’ve just put the finishing touches on the fall issue of Case in Point, and it’s now on press. Keep an eye out for your copy in the first few weeks of October. And, believe it or not, our editorial team has already started work on the winter issue by conducting interviews with key leaders who will update you on topics such as the quality movement, disease management, and COPD.

A special thank you to all who took the time to respond to last week’s editorial, entitled “Never Forget,” which commemorated the fifth anniversary of 9/11. It was great to hear from so many of you with personal connections to the events of that tragic day.

Over the past few weeks, I have been contacted and have worked with several chapters of the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) on some creative ways of welcoming attendees to the upcoming annual conference. I’ve provided a special, email edition of Across My Desk for registrants, welcoming them to the meeting and introducing this blog. The feedback has been great, as many professionals had not heard about or read Across My Desk, and were excited to see such a timely and interesting resource.

Finally, at the end of October our Managing Editor, Jennifer Hagemann, and I will be meeting with the leadership of CMSA and with the editorial team of Professional Case Management to discuss trends, issues and opportunities that we can share with the industry in our respective publications. I invite you to share with us your thoughts on the topics, issues and trends that are important to you in the case management field, as well as the lifestyle topics you’d like to see covered in 2007.
