A few weeks ago, I asked you to participate in the Case Management Resource Guide Survey to help me better understand how you use this resource and to solicit your suggestions for improvements as we begin work on the 18th edition. The staff at Dorland Healthcare Information is currently sifting through the results and will provide me with a report in the next few weeks. Thank you for your overwhelming response! We have so far had over 500 surveys returned that provide us with invaluable information to help us ensure the 2008 version meet your needs.
In this week’s edition of Across My Desk, I wanted to share the winners who were chosen at random from those who completed the survey (click here to view the winners) and share a sampling of the comments we received which showed how YOU view the Case Management Resource Guide. I think you will agree, as validated from your comments, that the Resource Guide is an important tool for case managers regardless of your setting.
The comments were gratifying and helpful to our staff in its ongoing effort to fill each edition of the Guide with resources that will allow you to meet your patients’ needs. So that we can continue to provide this resource to you at no cost, our staff also identifies sponsors to help cover the cost of compiling this valuable resource for care/case managers. One favor our sales team has asked me to relay to you is that if you contact a resource you find in the Case Management Resource Guide, please let them know where you found them. This will help us demonstrate the power of CMRG to potential advertisers, further defraying the cost of compiling this important resource for you.
Many people have emailed me that they have not received the 2007 version. There were some production issues that have delayed distribution, but these have been resolved. The 2007 version of the Case Management Resource Guide should be delivered to your homes and offices early to mid February. If you are a member of the Case Management Society of America you will receive the 2007 edition at no cost as the Case Management Resource Guide has been named the Official Product and Service Directory of the Case Management Society of America. If you are a case manager and have registered to receive your copy of CMRG, you are already on the emailing list. If you are not sure if you have registered, but want to make sure you are on the list to receive your complimentary copy of the Guide, go to mycmrg.com and complete the registration form that is listed in the site. In the meantime, you can use the online version at www.cmrg.com for the most updated resources!
Here are a few comments we received from the survey:
CMRG is a necessary tool for any case manager. I could not possibly work without it.
I like the online resource but I also want a hard copy so that when my system is down it doesn’t prevent me from resource hunting.
Very comprehensive! Something every life care planner needs on their book shelf.
It has been a life saver when I expect it the least. I happened to browse through it one day and it became one of my best friends.
I am impressed with the information provided and often look to see what I can find for my clients.
Very helpful especially in rural areas where resources are difficult to find.
I have regional responsibilities and this guide is a valuable resource for services not in my state. It is a useful adjunct to our provider network.
This is an awesome resource for us to use for our families who are military and move to all parts of the country.
It’s a wonderful tool to have because its crosses over to all fields of resources.
The Guides are well-researched, well-organized. A great tool for CMs in whatever arena they are in.
The Case Management Resource Guides are easy to use and VERY helpful. I have passed this great resource along to many of my co-workers.
An excellent comprehensive tool that is easily accessed and can be used by both case managers and social workers, as well as by other disciplines as needed.
One area where we have difficulty is long term placement for young individuals who need skilled nursing care. We end up recommending skilled nursing facilities where fellow residents are much older, although we would prefer placing them with other young adults and pediatric patients.
This is a very helpful guide. If you are doing nationwide case management, you can’t function without it.
Very good, but some areas seem to be excluded.
Too many outdated listings/phone numbers.
Again, thank you for your time in responding to the online survey.
Have a great week,
