CE Certificates mailed for 2007: If you sent in a Post-test and Program Evaluation for any of the 2007 issues of Case in Point you should have received your Certificate of Completion last week. If you have not received, please e-mail Anne at allewellyn@contexomedia.com so we can check to see if the paper work is in order and being processed at our new offices in Salt Lake City.
Case managers on the whole are a modest group of professionals. They don’t usually like to draw attention to the work they do or to the outcomes they achieve. But if you ask a patient or a provider about the benefits of utilizing a case manger — someone who was able to streamline care, explain a complicated event in understandable terms, or help another achieve a goal that may be described as life-changing — you would hear claims like, “I never could have done this without my case manager.”
The 2nd Annual Case Management Writing Contest is your invitation to share a story that has left a great impression on you. We invite you to “Share your Proudest Moment as a Case Manager,” a theme dedicated to that one moment when you knew you made a difference and the satisfaction you felt at your accomplishment. Maybe it was a group effort or the result of singular determination and perseverance that effected a change in the status quo. These moments don’t come by that often, perhaps because we don’t slow down to see them. But when we do realize the important work that we do day in and day out, it is apparent that case management is filled with proud moments and triumphs.
Last year we received solid feedback from professionals around the country. This year, I would like to double the number of entries. Whatever your role in the practice, I ask you to share your story and tell us all about the one moment above the rest when you were proud to carry the title of case manager.
Rules:
- Stories should be no longer than 500 words.
- E-mail submissions only. All entries must be e-mailed by midnight, March 31, 2008. Please send your story as an attachment to allewellyn@contexomedia.com.
- Four winners will be selected. Winning stories will appear in the June/July issue of Case in Point and may be edited for length, style and grammar.
- You do not need to be a member of any professional organization or be certified as a case manager to participate.
