At Dorland Health we are sending our summer intern back to school this week. Steven Marcum worked with us this summer and did a great job. I worked closely with him in updating the Case In Point website. I found Steven a pleasure to work with. He was responsive, polite, intelligent, organized, creative and willing to tackle any task that was asked of him. He communicated his progress and if he had questions he asked them. More importantly, he also offered recommendations for other ways of doing things.

I invite you to take a few minutes to check out his work. Start off by reviewing the front page of the Case In Point website where the August/September issue of Case In Point is now posted. Then move to the new CE Activities Page where you will find all of the CE activities offered by Dorland Health in one location. To access this page, just click on the red button from the main page. Currently, there are 28 pre-approved contact hours for certified case managers and certified disability management specialists.

Next, gather your team and listen to three new clinical interviews with industry thought leaders. They are located on the Clinical Focus page. The new interviews cover the topics of senior housing, traumatic brain injury, and a new device to safeguard patients against sudden cardiac arrest.

The Case Management Bookstore was also updated, so make sure you browse the bookstore for books written for and by case managers.

Last but not least, Steven was able to pull a variety of stats from our website that validated that you are visiting our website and taking advantage of the variety of programs we have built over the past 18 months. As case managers know, outcomes are an important part of the process. They provide valuable information that will help us as we begin the strategic planning process for 2009.

So with a heavy heart but with good wishes all of us at Dorland Health bid Steven farewell and thank him for the work he accomplished this summer. We wish you good luck as you enter your junior year of college and hope to see you again next summer. You did a great job!
